Tutorials / HOW-TO

Find the thread in your own mailbox

Use email retrieval for summaries and action lists under your Microsoft sign-in.

Confirm email is enabled

Email retrieval needs the backend Graph consent and the email feature enabled for your client. The assistant works with the signed-in user’s own mailbox.

Shared mailboxes, another user’s mailbox and mailbox attachments are not supported in the current release.

Ask for a bounded summary

Find my recent emails about the project handover from last week. Summarise the decisions and outstanding actions, with source links.

Use a subject, sender, project name or time window to help focus the search. Open the source emails to confirm dates, participants and the latest message.

Turn the result into a draft

Using those messages, draft a short follow-up asking for the missing handover items. Show the draft here for me to review.

The assistant can present drafted text in chat. The current retrieval tools do not send, edit or delete email. You review and send a response through your normal email workflow.

Test access per user

During onboarding, test as two ordinary users with separate private messages. Each user should receive results from their own mailbox rather than the other user’s private content. Escalate an unexpected result to your IT administrator before continuing the rollout.
